HOTEL MACDONALD WEDDING, EDMONTON
Fall is a beautiful time for a wedding. It truly is, with the seasons warm (not hot) temperatures and the colors on display. If you catch it just right, the leaves will be vibrant, and a few will have fallen, giving you the perfect mix for a wedding. Shiela and Troy added to the beauty by hosting their wedding at the lovely Hotel MacDonald atop Edmonton’s river valley. The architecture is beautiful, the view from the balcony is one of a kind, and the atmosphere that hotel offers truly is remarkable.
Both the ceremony and reception took place in the Empire Ballroom. The ceremony had a summer garden them, with ribbons and butterflies decorating the room. This them carried over into the reception as well, but they added some fun elements such as a live big band for the dance, and a lion dance to kick things off.
All the weddings I’ve been a part of have been fun and beautiful – what I loved about Sheila and Troy’s wedding was the laid back nature they brought to the day. We stayed close to the hotel for the entire wedding (except for the hair salon in the morning), which gave all the guests a lot of time to visit with the couple. Surrounding yourself with love, and in a lovely setting…seems like the perfect wedding.
